EABS is a Polish jazz septet, which despite its recent debut (2017) has already become a legend on the Jazz scene.
The band’s work floats between the past and the future of jazz and spontaneously goes with the flow. EABS music contains everything that is associated with jazz, and much more – from the standards of 50s 60s, through fusion of 70s and rap music to futuristic electronics. Musicians playing 100% high-energy jazz – are open and insolent, but at the same time careful in choosing right tones and the way of communication.
Young listeners will find that jazz is not just music for older ladies and gentlemen, and older listeners will remember the best jazz standards of the past.
At the concert in Teder, the band EABS will mainly play material from their album “Repetitions”, which is a tribute to Krzysztof Komeda – a Polish jazz star of the 50s and 60s who tragically died in 1969, aged 37. Komeda was a favorite composer of Roman Polański and created music to his films, including the famous “Rosemary’s Baby”.
The uniqueness of the EABS musical tribute lies not in the interpretation of Komeda’s music, but in a way creating it from the beginning – they creatively deconstruct the basic themes, act according to hip-hop form, sample and loop the played material. EABS musicians breathe their modern breath into the classic spirit of Komeda, for which jazz is only a springboard for other styles.
