Polish cinema’s major success this week!!

Paweł Pawlikowski’s movie Cold War is the big winner of the European Film Academy’s awards ceremony.  It won Best Director, Best Actress (Joanna Kulig), Best Manuscript and Best European Movie!!

Set against the backdrop of the 1950s Stalinism in Poland, a group of people are trying to create a band.

The movie will be screened in Israel next month and it will be called “Love in Cold Days’.

Cold War is also on “the short list” to win the Oscar for best foreign language movie alongside Ana Zamecka’s  movie Communion which is a nominee in the Best Documentary category. Communion is a family drama depicting two young people’s extraordinary and touching struggle with family problems.
