Yoel Sitruk’s multimedia presentation

The Israeli photographer, Yoel Sitruk will take you on a
multimedia tour of Warsaw, Krakow and its surroundings.
You’ll have coffee with him in cafes, visit market
squares,walk down beautiful alleys and see monuments and
modern architecture.
The presentation will take place in
the framework of the program “Friday morning” at the
Diaspora Museum.

During the summer, educational activities focus on study visits of Israeli teachers and guides in Poland. This year, there'll be three visits:
July 6 – 14 – “Polish Album” – study visit in Poland of Israeli guides who participate in the year-course “Get to know Poland”. The purpose of the project is to widen the guides’ knowledge of unknown before regions of Poland. This year program contains the Poznan region and Lower Silesia.
July 22 – 31 – "Getting Closer" - Seminar and study tour for principals of twelve Polish and Israeli schools. The main objectives of the seminar are the strengthening of professional relations between Israeli and Polish teachers and the devising of an instructional methodology to facilitate the teaching of common history and the overcoming of stereotypes. The direct involvement of school principals aims to impact visits of Israeli youth to Poland in an attempt to aid the progress of authentic youth exchange.
August 15 – 23 – “Under Common Sky” – continuation of visits organized since 2005 for Israeli teachers and educational workers, participants of the project “Getting Closer”. The purpose of the visit is to get to know some Polish regions as a possible part of trips with Israeli youth. Participants shall visit the northern part of Poland such as: Kuyavia, Pomerania and Mazuria.

How to study common history as a common
effort
May 18-19, Beit Berl College
An exceptional conference dedicated to teaching the history of the
Jewish nation in Poland and the history of Poland in Israel. A rich
program that aims at teachers and researchers who cooperate with the
Ministries of Education of both countries and focuses on analysis of
existing manuals and pedagogical materials, presentation of guides
and teaching methods. The audience will have the opportunity to
become acquainted with the use of the internet as an educational
tool and to participate in workshops. The conference will be
followed by the publication of a brochure summing up the teachers’
seminars. The conference shall be organized at the initiative of the
Polish Institute in Tel Aviv, the Pedagogical Academy in Krakow and
the Beit Berl College.
