Poland-Germany: Instructions for use
Photography exhibition
03-29 July

"Poland-Germany: Instructions for use" is the title of a project initiated in the framework of the Polish-German Year 2005/6 by Instytut Adama Mickiewicza, Goethe-Institut in Munich and the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation. The Project was aimed at encouraging young artists to send works presenting German-Polish relations from different perspectives and dealing with different artistic genres. The exhibition presented in Asia House contains selected photographs and short films by 30 artists from Poland and Germany.

The presentation of the works in Israel is a mutual initiative of Instytut Polski and Goethe-Institut in Tel-Aviv – neighboring cultural institutions of neighboring countries. A visit through the exhibition takes the visitor not only on a Polish-German journey within the premises of Asia House but gives him also the opportunity to visit both institutions.

Exhibitions of exceptional Polish photographers of the younger generation
Hydroklinika by Mikołaj Grospierre
UFO by Szymon Rogiński
3 may – 7 June

As part of the project of promoting young Polish photography "Photo Poland", the Artist’s House in Jerusalem will host two exhibitions of exceptional Polish photographers of the younger generation: Hydroklinika by Mikołaj Grospierre and UFO by Szymon Rogiński.

Photographs from the cycle Hydroklinika by Mikołaj Grospierre were taken in 2004 during his journey to Eastern Europe. In the town of Druskininkai (Lithuania) he documented one of the most famous USSR clinics. The artist was able to capture on film the last moments of the buildings’ existence, as they were demolished in 2005 due to economic reasons.

The subject of the cycle by Szymon Rogiński UFO is darkness illuminated with a single, characteristic light – the starry sky and remote areas which, as it seems, are haunted by aliens.

Shop - Project of SzuSzu
groupInternational Urban Architecture Biennale in Bat Yam
13-17 April

The SzuSzu Gallery is a project authored by Piotr Kopik, Ivo Nikic and Karol Radziszewski that dates back to 2001. They present the latest in art while toying with conventions and formulas. They always surprise. Each one of their projects is different because they adapt it to a new setting and new circumstances. We’ll be able to see proof of that in Bat Yam, at 63, Balfour St. All one has to do is to visit their shop. What will be in it? Most certainly, a lot of surprises!
