“In Schulz’s circle”
The exhibition shall
open on
December 7 at 19:30
in the Cameri Theatre in Tel Aviv and stay open until January 7,
2007.
The
exhibition is a voyage in the fantasy universe of one of the most
interesting artists of the 20th century. The following most
prominent Polish painters shall take part in it: Olbinski,
Starowieyski, Beksinski, Bereznicki, Dwurnik, Stasys and Kapusta.
The exhibition shall be completed by “reading of Schulz” by a Polish
and an Israeli actor in Polish and in Hebrew.

Saturday, December 2nd at 18:00: Panel discussion: "Video Art
Institutionalized" with Hanna Wroblewska (Zacheta National Art
Gallery, Warsaw), Stuart Comer (Tate Modern, Britain), Paul
Williemsen (Argos, Belgium), Manuel Olveira (CGAC Museum, Spain) and
with moderator: Sergio Edelsztein.
 Katarzyna
Kozyra (www.katarzynakozyra.com.pl)
shall be a guest of the Festival. She is the most popular Polish
artist in the field of installations and video art. She is the
author of such works as The Animal Pyramid, Blood Bonds, Olympia,
Steam Bath, Male Steam Bath. Each of these works violates some taboo
and takes up difficult and controversial topics.

“Duda-Gracz to Chopin”
The exhibition
Duda Gracz To Chopin
under the honorary patronate of the spouse of the
President of the Republic of Poland,
Mrs. Maria Kaczynska
A
presentation of a major cycle of 295 paintings by Jerzy Duda-Gracz
inspired by works of Frederic Chopin.
Opening of the exhibition on November 5 at 20.00 in the foyer of the
Tel Aviv Opera.
The exhibition will be open until December 7 of this year.
Etudes, Songs and Preludes as a form of “lighter” draft-like works
were painted in watercolor and the remaining works are oil
paintings. This is an unprecedented event in the history of painting
and music.
In order to launch this gigantic project, the Polish Institute
cooperates with the Theater and Music Office of the capital City of
Warsaw (director Janusz Pietkiewicz), with the Conspero Foundation
(chairman Andrzej Giza), with the Tel Aviv Opera (director Hana
Munitz) and the honorary consul, dr. Jack Fliederbaum.

Jan Lenica’s film and theatre posters.

Jan Lenica
(1928-2001) Graduate of Architecture Faculty at the
Warsaw Polytechnic. Specialized in poster, graphic
design, book illustration, stage design and since 1957
in animated films. Author of numerous articles and books
on poster art. Author of the term "Polish School of
Poster".
Professor at the Harvard University, Cambridge MA 1974
and Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin
1986

Major awards: Toulouse Lautrec Grand Prix at the
International Exhibition of Film Posters, Versailles,
France, 1961; 1st and 3rd Prize at the International
Exhibition of Film Posters in Karlove Wary, Czech
Republic, 1962; Gold Medal at the 1st International
Biennial of Posters in Warsaw, 1966; Grand Prix at the
Polish Poster Biennial, Katowice, Poland, 1999.
Laureate of
numerous awards for animated films and book
